Mayor's Award

Shelby was nominated by her 6th grade teacher Mrs. Johnson for the Mayor's Community Youth Recognition Award. She received the award last night during the City Counsil Meeting. It was fun to hear what some kids are doing in our community. She received a back pack filled with goodies... like a shirt, key chain, braclet, free swimming pass, candy & lots more. Her teach had some wonderful things to say about her... like that she tries to make sure that no one is left out, that she is a wonderful student and a joy to have in her class. Steve & I got to write some stuff about her also... we have so blessed to have a caring, giving daughter, who tries to do the best it all that she does, she is wonderful & loves to help out with all the smaller kids in the neighborhood & likes to volunteer her time helping with primary activities.
Shelby's cute teacher and family came to show support for Shelby during the award. I have to say Shelby has been really luck to have such a wonderful, caring teacher this year. Thank you Mrs. Johnson!!!
And way to go SHELBY!!! We are so proud of you & everything you do. What a wonderful example you are to everyone around you!! We love you!!
