Evans Family: Flaming Gorge * 4th of July Weekend!!

For the first time in 5+ years we were able to pack up and head to my parents cabin for the 4th of July weekend. Steve usually works the 4th weekend but by some small miracle he was on his seven days off. We left late Thursday and made it up by 11:30 pm... just in time for bed. Thanks to my parents who had rooms ready for us. Friday we got up and went to the lake. The plan was to put my parents boat in, but when we got there the lake was VERY rough and we decide to just let the kids play in the water. I think Braxton lasted maybe 5 minutes and then he jumped in the Ex and was done. The girl's lasted a little longer.

When they got back to the cabin, Grandma, Grandpa, Chad & Emily took them all on a 4wheeling ride. The kids loved it. The came back with lots of fun stories.

Shelby also got to learn a new card game, my Grandpa & Grandma Rasmussen also came up for the weekend. And both Friday & Saturday night played card games, which Shelby joined in on.

Saturday we head back to the lake and the water was a lot nicer... put the boat was having well a bad day. I am not sure what happened and maybe I'll get my mom to tell the story on her blog but she was in the boat with Braxton, Kennedy and my nephew Carsten and my dad waved her to come back in. Something was wrong with the boat. We are just glad that my mom & the kids got back to the dock and loaded the boat back on the trailer.

We decided that we would set up in shade and play in the water. The kids had ALOT of fun, playing with cousins. Soon aunt Emily got in the water and all the kids & Emily had a water fight. Uncle Chad soon told the kids that the first one to get Emily's head under water he would give them $5. The kids all seem to attack Emily & soon they had all got her head under water. Chad bought them all ice cream for a job well done. Thanks Emily for being such a good sport.

At Grandpa & Grandma cabin the kids LOVED to play on the golf cart. Steve was WONDERFUL to drive all the kids around and around for hours at a time. I didn't take many pictures but her are a few of the kids "posing" for me.

Kennedy & Avery had sun eating ice cream... how luck Friday Steve & I took them for ice cream and then on Saturday Chad & Emily took them for ice cream. What could be better on a HOT day??

Chad has a kid size 4wheeler and took time teaching Shelby, Braxton, Carsten & Kennedy to ride it. The kids had fun and I was impressed how well they all did for it being there first time driving.
